Job Overview: We are seeking an experienced Principal Financial Sys Analyst to join our team at AT&T. The successful candidate will provide best-in-class financial and tax compliance systems management and support. This role will also be responsible to lead extremely complex financial systems projects and implement new tax technology solutions benefiting Income Tax Operations ensuring the effectiveness of our processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Ensure timely and accurate filing of income tax returns and payment obligations.
Subject matter expert level experience in key tax software applications which includes exporting and importing of files into database, roll-over, clean-up, and training. Troubleshoot and resolve any issues or problems that arise. Ensure that client needs are met, priority processing and projects are completed on time, and that resources are utilized in the most effective manner.
Implement changes and enhancements needed within the tax software resulting from GAAP financial reporting changes, legal entity profile changes and new tax legislation for US federal, state, and international income tax compliance. Maintain tax legal entity trial balances mapping and load into tax compliance software for quarterly ES, extension, and return. Maintain documentation and internal control.
Collaborate with other team to develop end to end income tax processes. Provide technical/functional expertise in identifying, evaluating, and developing financial systems. Support ongoing automation solutions to enhance and streamline existing processes. Works on all phases of systems development and maintenance.
Act as a liaison to internal IT Corp Systems. Implement solutions to financial systems problems and oversees testing of system modifications designed to accommodate these solutions.
Build strong relationships with tax software vendor and external consulting firms.
Other Income Tax Operations duties as assigned.
Job Contributions:
Design and implement innovative and complex finance strategies that align with and drive business strategy. Exercise judgment within broadly defined practices and policies in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criterion for obtaining results for more complex portions of the practice.
Requirements:
Bachelors or advanced degree preferred
Experience in corporate and partnership tax compliance and/or tax accounting
Superuser of Corptax and Alteryx. Advanced skills in OneSource, Oracle CFAS, HFM, FDMEE, FDW, Microsoft 365 applications a plus
Experience with data analytics, extraction, and reporting needs for a tax department
Experience with multidisciplinary projects that impact tax (e.g., ERP implementations, tax co-sourcing engagements, finance transformation)
Proven project management and project coordination skills
Experience: Typically requires 8 or more years of experience or equivalent combination of experience and education.
