The Director (AT&T Chief Security Office) will lead a team comprised of highly skilled cybersecurity professionals dedicated to evaluating and enhancing security for key software and hardware components including consumer as well as AT&T employee mobile experiences. Our mission is to support both internal and external customers by ensuring the timely, cost-effective, and operationally cybersecure delivery of products and services. In addition, they will lead a team focused on assessing and testing software and hardware to mitigate cyber risks for AT&T. This role is pivotal in ensuring that both internally and externally developed applications meet stringent security standards before deployment. The individual will be responsible for implementing security assessments, developing risk reduction metrics, and providing consulting services throughout the development lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
Risk Reduction for Internally Developed Apps:
Ensure all internal applications undergo Static Application Security Testing (SAST), Dynamic Application Security Testing (DAST), and penetration testing (Pentest) prior to release.
Collaborate with Mobile Application Development (MAD) and Chief Operations Unit (COU) teams for secure app publishing.
Offer consulting services during the development phase to integrate security best practices.
Risk Reduction for Externally Developed Apps:
Require external developers to conduct SAST, while the CSO performs DAST and Pentest before releasing apps under the AT&T brand.
Implement the COU Application Development Process (ADP) to review Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) applications used by employees.
Provide specialized security pentesting services for FirstNet applications.
Automation and Metrics Development:
Enhance the Mobile App Testing (MAST) program by improving automation processes.
Develop and monitor metrics to support mobile app risk reduction efforts.
Customer Support and Collaboration:
Collaborate with various business units, including Connected Solutions, FirstNet, Product Development, Global Real Estate, Asset Protection, Network Engineering, Retail Sourcing, Network Operations, Mobile Network Architecture, Inventive Science, Fleet Operations, Environment Health and Safety, and the Chief Security Office.
Ensure these units realize timely, cost-effective, and cybersecure products and services.
Cyber Risk Management:
Identify, analyze, document, and mitigate cyber risks associated with software and hardware.
Develop and enforce security strategies and policies.
Oversee the design and architecture of secure systems.
Lead the testing and certification processes to ensure compliance with security standards.
Drive research and innovation to stay ahead of emerging cyber threats.
Goals:
Support Internal and External Customers: Provide robust cybersecurity support to ensure products and services are delivered securely and efficiently.
Identify and Mitigate Cyber Risks: Proactively manage cyber risks through comprehensive assessment and testing.
Enhance Security Processes: Continuously improve security testing processes and automation to reduce risks.
Foster Collaboration: Work closely with various business units to integrate security into the development lifecycle and operational processes.
By fulfilling these responsibilities, the Director of CyberSecurity will play a crucial role in safeguarding AT&T’s software and hardware assets, ensuring secure and reliable services for our customers, and maintaining AT&T’s reputation as a leader in cybersecurity.
Required/Desired Skills:
Proven experience in cybersecurity, particularly in application security testing (SAST, DAST, Pentest).
Strong understanding of mobile app development and security.

Our Director -Cybersecurity earns between $171,100 -$287,200 annually, Not to mention all the other amazing rewards that working at AT&T offers. Individual starting salary within this range may depend on geography, experience, expertise, and education/training.
