This position requires office presence of a minimum of 5 days per week and is only located in the location(s) posted. No relocation is offered.
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
Able to guide a scrum team on how to use Agile/Scrum practices and apply the Framework as defined in the Scrum Guide.
Lead, train, and coach the organization in its Scrum adoption and work with other Scrum Masters to ensure organizational process improvement.
Based on the maturity of the scrum team, provides support and coaching to the team to higher levels of maturity at a pace that is sustainable and comfortable to the team.
The Scrum Master ensures that all Scrum events take place and are positive, productive, and kept within the timebox. They will facilitate as needed.
Fosters continuous improvement and helps the Scrum Team to focus on creating high-value Increments that meet the Definition of Done.
Provide support to the Product Owner by recommending techniques for effective Product Goal definition and Product Backlog management.
Help promote the Scrum Team’s understanding of the need for clear and concise Product Backlog items.
Remove impediments to a team’s productivity by shielding them from non-essential outside influences, and/or guides the team on how to remove impediments.
As a servant leader, the scrum master protects the team from external distractions, allowing the team to focus on the work to which they have committed. Remove impediments to a team’s productivity and/or guides the team on how to remove impediments.
Empower teams and facilitate creativity while guarding quality and monitoring iteration progress while striving for successful completion.
Builds and maintains a trusting and safe environment where problems and issues can be raised without fear of blame, retribution, or being judged.
Is able to serve the Organization in helping with Scrum adoption and optimizing Best Practices related to Agile.
Position Qualifications
· Minimum of 5-7 years in Telecom or related
· Minimum of 5-8 years of service to a team in the role of a Scrum Master
· Bachelor of Science degree in any Technical, Engineering, Information Systems or related fields preferred
· PSM 1 (Professional Scrum Master) certification from scrum.org
Education: Preferred Bachelors of Science degree in any Technical, Engineering, Information Systems or related fields; Developer nanodegree; or equivalent experience.
Job Contribution: Senior level technical expertise. Deep technical knowledge and subject matter expert on Team Development conforming to Agile Methodologies and Scrum Framework.
Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree (BS/BA) desired in Computer Science. 5+ years of related experience. Certification is required in some areas.
