Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and innovative AI/ML expert with a strong background in networking. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to design, implement, deploy, and maintain state-of-the-art AI/ML systems that enhance the performance, resiliency, and security of AT&T's wireless and wired networks, and improve the capital and operational efficiency for the management of AT&T’s networks and services. Specifically, the candidate will work with world-class networking innovators and data scientists in creating network foundational models (NFMs) encompassing a massive and diverse set of network data from the real networks and leveraging the NFMs to push the bounds on AI/ML network applications.
Key Roles / Responsibilities:
Development of novel algorithms for pre-training network foundation models for our wireless and/or wireline networks.
Fine-tuning network foundation models for various downstream applications such as performance optimization and outage root cause analysis.
Collaborate with product owners, customer representatives, internal stakeholders, and network operators and engineers in developing and evolving new and existing products/services/tools by leveraging cutting-edge AI/ML techniques.
Contribute to and/or lead AI/ML projects, creating and validating proofs of concept, implementing and deploying software solutions for new products, services, and tools in collaboration with the rest of the business.
Engage with research communities within AT&T and academia to push the boundaries at the intersection of AI/ML and networking.
Qualifications / Skills of interest:
Core ML skills: Supervised/Unsupervised learning, neural network, optimization techniques (e.g., SGD and Adam), reinforcement learning and transfer learning
Generative model skills: GAN, VAE, Transformers and Diffusion Models
Proficiency in Tensorflow, PyTorch and Keras
Familiarity with large-scale foundation model training and C++/CUDA optimization
Knowledge and understanding of LTE/5G cellular networks and wired networks
Education:
PhD in an approved field from an approved university with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience or Masters in an approved field from an approved university with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience or a Bachelors in an approved field from an approved university with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience. Our Principal Inventive Scientist, earns between $180,200.00 - $270,400.00 USD Annual, not to mention all the other amazing rewards that working at AT&T offers. Individual starting salary within this range may depend on geography, experience, expertise, and education/training.
