The Assistant Vice President, Technology, Innovation & Network Communications is responsible for strategic communication and dynamic storytelling to reinforce the company’s leadership position in technology, innovation, and network connectivity. This position reports to Vice President, Enterprise Connectivity & Innovation Communications
Supports AT&T’s Technology Services and Network organizations, driving comprehensive communication strategies that advances our technology narrative, promotes innovation, and reinforces our leadership in converged 5G and Fiber connectivity. The team also leads network security, resiliency, and reliability storytelling, including disaster preparedness and response.
Brings established relationships and expertise in technology and innovation, including deep understanding of tech media, industry events and thought leadership platforms.
Responsible for proactive storytelling, securing media coverage in influential outlets, and delivering measurable results against a strategic communications plan.
Member of the Communications Leadership Team, key partner, and strategic advisor to the organizations and leaders they support. Position Responsibilities
Develops and executes strategic communication plans advance AT&T’s leadership position in innovation, technology, and network connectivity. Leads and manages a team of communication professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
Secures media coverage in influential outlets and delivers measurable results against a strategic communications plan. Serves as a spokesperson for AT&T Technology Services and Network organizations, managing media relations and crisis communications.
Works closely with senior leadership to craft and deliver key messages that resonate with internal and external stakeholders.
Establishes and grows relationships with key media, including a strong focus on technology reporters and industry analysts. Oversees the creation of impactful content for various channels, including press releases, internal communications, social media, multimedia, and executive speeches.
Collaborates with cross-functional teams to support product launches, technology advancements, and innovation initiatives.
Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field.
A minimum of 10 years of experience in corporate communications, with at least five years in a leadership role.
Established relationships and expertise in technology and innovation, including deep understanding of tech media, industry events and thought leadership platforms.
Proven track record of developing and executing successful communication strategies in a technology or telecommunications environment.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information in a clear and engaging manner.
Strong leadership and team management skills, with experience leading a diverse team of professionals.
Demonstrates ability to build relationships with senior executives and stakeholders, influencing decision-making and driving strategic initiatives.
Experience in media relations, including managing press inquiries and crisis communications.
Proficiency in leveraging digital and social media platforms for corporate communication purposes.
Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret communication metrics and derive actionable insights.
Experience in the telecommunications sector, including network architecture and operations.
Knowledge of AT&T’s products, services, and organizational structure.
Established media and industry relationships in telecommunications and technology space.
Potential travel as required up to 20 percent
