We are looking for Associate Director – Web Platform Services who has hands on experience on both front-end (UI) and back-end technologies and extensive experience is improving application performance and quality for high transaction ecommerce website.

Responsibilities and Day-to-Day View:

  • Define and drive performance strategy for web applications and microservices.

  • Lead performance and automation engineering team for ecommerce web applications.

  • Define and track key software performance indicators to drive continuous performance optimizations.

  • Partner with cross functional teams such as architecture, product, development, platform and quality engineering to develop roadmap and implement new features for digital channels.

  • Communicate and present the results of the performance analysis and modeling to customers, stakeholders, and senior leadership.

  • Drive automation to improve software quality and speed of delivery.

  • Incorporate automation and virtualization into test strategy and execution to accelerate delivery of software products for digital channels.

  • Establish quality and reliability standards in partnership with cross functional teams.

  • Recommends infrastructure upgrades to support business growth and evolving technology requirements.

  • Improves test coverage for services; promotes a “shift-left” mindset; organizes and implements integration tests; and resolves problem areas.

  • Stays abreast of emerging technologies and assesses their applicability to the organization.

  • Fosters a collaborative environment that encourages knowledge sharing and skill development.

  • Leads and mentors a team of engineers; provides technical guidance, sharing best practices, and fostering a culture of continuous learning and growth.

Minimum Qualification and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree program in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

  • 10+ years of solid experience and understanding of software engineering principles, design patterns, and best practices for building highly scalable and maintainable systems.

  • 8+ years of working experience with high-volume websites and high-velocity transactions and designing systems that can handle the demands of real-time or near-real-time data.

  • 8+ years of hands-on experience in automation testing for web applications and microservices.

  • 8+ years of experience with leading, managing and mentoring teams.

  • 5+ years of proven experience building sophisticated applications and APIs in Cloud and hybrid cloud environments at large scale preferably in Java and React JS.

  • 5+ years of experience in using observability tools such as APM, analytics platforms, etc.

  • 5+ years experience working with cloud platforms, such as Azure, AWS or Google Cloud, to architect and implement scalable, high performance and efficient solutions.

  • In-depth understanding and practical application of networking architecture principles and security: caching and content delivery (CDN).

Desired Qualification and Skills:

  • Demonstrated ability to drive innovation, adapt to emerging technologies, and implement industry best practices.

  • Experience in building applications and performance scripts using AI Peer Programming tools.

  • Proficient in using modern software development tools, version control systems (ex. Git), and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.

  • Strong communication and leadership abilities, with a proven track record of collaborating effectively in cross-functional teams and mentoring junior engineers.

  • Demonstrated ability to take ownership and responsibility of critical issues and conclude them to resolution.

  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to dissect complex technical challenges and propose innovative solutions.

Our Assoc Director-Technology II earns between $174,100.00-$261,100.00 USD Annual, not to mention all the other amazing rewards that working at AT&T offers. Individual starting salary within this range may depend on geography, experience, expertise, and education/training.
