Overall Purpose: Responsible for managing and leading complex internal employee communications and the development and design of highly complex external Public Relations (PR) communications programs. This job title is used exclusively for employees that roll up into the Corporate Communications business unit. This position will support our corporate responsibility and inclusion initiatives, as well as craft compelling stories that highlight the achievements of AT&T employees and the impact of our community programs.
Key Roles and Responsibilities: Typical tasks may include, but are not limited to, the following:
Strategic Planning and Execution: Develop and implement comprehensive internal and external communications, PR strategies, and CSR programs that align with the company’s goals and objectives. Analyze and confer expertise on tactical communication plans and maintain a high-level understanding of industry trends to make appropriate recommendations.
Content Creation and Management: Write, edit, and oversee the publication of various communications materials, including articles, press releases, employee newsletters, social media content, brochures, and digital assets. Make decisions on important PR stories, narratives, and content that reflect the company’s priorities on key topics. Identify, craft, and pitch inspiring and impactful stories about AT&T employees and community members impacted by AT&T programs.
Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with internal and external stakeholders, including customers, investors, and community members, to build strong relationships and gather feedback. Advise executive leadership on PR & communications strategies.
Event and Crisis Communication Management: Plan and coordinate communication efforts for company events. Develop and implement crisis communication plans to manage and mitigate negative publicity. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to coordinate PR work and manage special projects as directed. Develop community initiatives to enhance brand awareness and build relationships in distribution markets.
Media Relations and Reporting: Establish and maintain relationships with media coverage, and handle media inquiries. Provide counsel to senior managers and executives on media-related issues and speech writing. Track and analyze the performance of communications and PR activities using key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics. Prepare regular reports to evaluate the impact of communication strategies and provide insights for continuous improvement.

Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree (BS/BA) desired. 5+ years of related experience. Certification is required in some areas.
Our Lead Manager Communications & PR earn between $105,600 - $158,400 USD Annual. Not to mention all the other amazing rewards that working at AT&T offers.
