Overall Purpose: Transform business problems into actionable insights using advanced data techniques and technologies to drive informed decision-making and innovation.
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
Data Extraction and Preparation:
Collect and preprocess data from various sources (e.g., data lakes, databases, cloud environments).
Design and analyze large, complex datasets strategically.
Utilize tools such as Python, R, Scala, and modern ML packages (Spark, SciKit-Learn, Pandas, PyTorch, etc.).
Coding Solutions, Algorithms, and Feature Engineering:
Conduct exploratory data analysis and create relevant features.
Develop and implement coding solutions through the entire workflow, including data extraction, cleaning, model creation, deployment, and monitoring.
Expertise in languages like Python, R, Scala, and ML libraries.
Model Development, Deployment, and Optimization:
Build, evaluate, and optimize machine learning models.
Implement models into production and monitor performance.
Proficiency in algorithm categories such as Supervised Learning, Unsupervised Learning, Deep Learning, and more.
Use tools like Databricks Workspaces or Visual Studio Code.
Visualization and Collaboration:
Create visualizations and reports for stakeholders.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align with business objectives.
Use advanced visualization tools like ggplot, D3.js.
Generative AI:
Develop and implement generative AI models for content creation and data augmentation.
Familiarity with GANs, VAEs, Transformers, and tools like GPT-3/4, DALL-E.
Job Contribution:
Expert in the field, applying strategic insight to solve complex problems and drive results.
Leads high-impact projects and influences executive decisions.
Serves as a mentor and assists with challenging issues.
Works with minimal oversight, frequently consulting senior leadership.

Education/Experience:
Master's degree in Data Science, Math, Statistics, Engineering, or Physics.
7+ years of related experience.
Certification required in some areas.
Salary:
Principal Data Scientists earn between $160,900 - $241,300 USD annually.
Starting salary depends on geography, experience, expertise, and education/training.
