This position requires senior-level expertise and is responsible for overseeing the entire delivery process of a software application or service. This includes design, development, testing, deployment, production support (troubleshooting), and maintenance, with a strong emphasis on automation.
Key Responsibilities:
Team Leadership & Mentoring: Lead and guide a team of software engineers in the design, development, and maintenance of software solutions.
Technical Expertise: Utilize advanced knowledge in Java, Kafka, Camunda, and Kubernetes to create high-quality software.
Scalability & Efficiency: Employ Docker and Cloud Computing technologies to develop scalable and efficient software solutions.
Automation: Use scripting languages to automate tasks and enhance software functionality.
Quality Assurance: Implement automated testing frameworks like JUnit, Spock, and Katalon to ensure software reliability and quality.
Development Lifecycle: Contribute to all phases of the development lifecycle, adhering to best practices.
Requirements Management: Oversee the end-to-end requirements process, define processes for each project, and manage issue resolution.
Peer Reviews & Technology Assessment: Conduct peer reviews and evaluate new technologies to enable new capabilities.
Project Oversight: Manage the development and execution of software modules using emerging products, technologies, and applications.
Stakeholder Engagement: Ensure project requirements are met according to stakeholder specifications throughout the project lifecycle.
Data Analysis: Analyze data and reports to understand business problems and validate solutions post-implementation.
Technical Analysis & Documentation: Perform technical analysis for new features and projects, and create comprehensive technical documentation, including architecture and sequence diagrams.
Leadership: Provide leadership and guidance to less experienced team members as needed.
Qualifications:
Preferred: Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Applied Science, Electrical Engineering, or Math; Developer nanodegree; or equivalent experience.
Requires 5+ years of experience in a technical role.
In-depth knowledge of Java and J2EE technologies, Spring, Spring Boot.
Experience with Kafka, Camunda, Kubernetes, Maven, SQL databases (e.g., Oracle), NoSQL databases (e.g., Cassandra, Elastic Search), and GitHub.
Proficiency in Docker and Cloud Computing technologies.
Strong scripting skills.
Experience with automated testing frameworks such as Spock, Katalon, and RestAssured.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Strong leadership and team management abilities.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Our Lead Software Engineering, earns between $143,800.00-$215,800.00 USD Annual, Not to mention all the other amazing rewards that working at AT&T offers. Individual starting salary within this range may depend on geography, experience, expertise, and education/training.
