We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Software Engineer to join our dynamic team. As the Lead Software Engineer, you will be responsible for the overall delivery process of a software application or service, including design, development, testing, deployment, production application support (e.g., troubleshooting), and maintenance, with a strong focus on automation. You will lead and mentor a team of engineers to ensure the successful delivery of high-quality software solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Management: Lead the end-to-end delivery process of software applications, including design, development, testing, deployment, and production support.
Automation: Implement and advocate for automation in all aspects of the software development lifecycle to improve efficiency and reliability.
Proficiency in Java and Spring Framework:
Extensive experience in backend development using Java, with a deep understanding of Java fundamentals.
Expertise in the Spring ecosystem, including Spring Boot, Spring MVC, and Spring Data.
Proven track record of designing and implementing RESTful APIs using Spring Boot, adhering to best practices for security, performance, and documentation.
Apache Kafka Expertise:
Design and implement Kafka-based messaging solutions for high-throughput, low-latency applications.
Manage Kafka architecture, including topics, partitions, producers, consumers, and brokers.
Utilize Kafka Streams, KSQL, or other related technologies for stream processing.
Design & Analytical Skills:
Design complex backend systems focusing on scalability, reliability, and maintainability.
Translate business requirements into technical solutions using excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Apply software design patterns, microservices architecture, and distributed systems principles.
Collaboration & Communication:
Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, designers, and other engineers, to deliver high-quality software solutions.
Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering a collaborative and innovative team environment.
Continuous Improvement:
Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies.
Continuously improve development processes and tools to enhance team productivity and software quality.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
Experience:
Extensive experience in software engineering, with a focus on RESTful API development and Apache Kafka.
Proven track record of delivering high-quality software solutions in a leadership role.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in designing, developing, and maintaining RESTful APIs.
Strong knowledge of REST principles, API versioning, and best practices for security and performance.
Experience with API documentation tools like Swagger/OpenAPI.
In-depth understanding of Kafka architecture and hands-on experience with Kafka-based messaging solutions.
Proficiency in stream processing using Kafka Streams, KSQL, or other related technologies.
Strong design and analytical skills with experience in software design patterns, microservices architecture, and distributed systems.
Soft Skills:
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Strong leadership and mentoring abilities.
Effective communication and collaboration skills.
Our Lead Software Engineering, earns between $143,800.00-$215,800.00 USD Annual, Not to mention all the other amazing rewards that working at AT&T offers. Individual starting salary within this range may depend on geography, experience, expertise, and education/training.
