If you have a passion for building products and solving for the future with a focus on product usability across customer journeys at all touchpoints, then this role as Principal

Reporting to the AVP of Product Design and Innovation, for Business Products, you will lead and inspire a team of 5-10 professionals in product design, UX, and research. This new discipline and organization report to the CPO, offering a unique opportunity to shape the future of product design.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Mentorship:

    • Mentor Jr. multidisciplinary team of product designers.

    • Foster a collaborative, innovative, and inclusive team culture.

  • Product Design & Development:

    • Lead the design, prototyping, and production of UX and UI, ensuring seamless handoff to development teams.

    • Translate customer and technical requirements into compelling product designs.

    • Develop and document new product features, enhancements, and overall design strategy.

  • Customer Experience & Research:

    • Leverage qualitative, quantitative, and UX research and insights directly from customers to inform design decisions.

    • Ensure product usability across the entire customer journey, addressing all touchpoints effectively.

  • Strategic Planning & Execution:

    • Work with research to analyze market trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape to identify opportunities for new products or enhancements.

    • Support, prepare and present business cases, requirements, and plans for product development.

    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including business, technology, and UX, to align product design with market, budget, and schedule specifications.

  • Collaboration & Communication:

    • Serve as the central resource, lead for product design deliverables, collaborating with product teams, engineering, and services.

    • Work with third-party technology partners to support new product development.

    • Use storytelling, data, service design, and prototypes to communicate product vision, strategy, and features compellingly.

Key Skills:

  • Expertise in full-stack design, including UX research, product, service, production, and interaction design.

  • Proficiency in design and research methodologies (qualitative and quantitative) and tools (e.g., UserTesting, Figma).

  • Strong ability to collaborate with teams to iterate on UX solutions that solve customer problems.

  • Experience delivering designs in collaboration with Product Management and Technology teams.

  • Excellent storytelling skills to convey product vision and strategy.

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field.

  • 8-10+ years of experience in product design, with significant customer-facing experience.

  • Proven track record of leading complex product design and innovations.

  • Recognized as an expert and authority within the product design discipline.

Our Principal Product Management & Develop, earn between $158,200 - $237,400. Not to mention all the other amazing rewards that working at AT&T offers. Individual starting salary within this range may depend on geography, experience, expertise, and education/training.
