Our Consumer Technology Experience (CTX) Team is seeking an experienced and visionary Assistant Vice President, Technology to lead our engineering teams in delivering cutting-edge solutions that support both our wireless and wireline services. Reporting to the Vice President, Business Support Systems Engineering, this role requires a dynamic leader with a proven track record of executing BSS transformations, a deep understanding of the telecommunications industry, and the ability to inspire and elevate the performance of software engineering teams.
Position Responsibilities
Lead and oversee the engineering teams responsible for the development, implementation, and maintenance of BSS solutions for both wireless and wireline services.
Drive transformational change in our BSS landscape, enhancing system capabilities, scalability, and performance.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and execute strategic initiatives aimed at improving customer experience and operational efficiency.
Foster a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and excellence in engineering practices.
Mentor and develop engineering leaders and team members, promoting a high-performance culture and professional growth.
Ensure alignment of engineering efforts with business objectives, timelines, and quality standards.
Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to ensure our BSS solutions remain competitive and future-proof.
Effectively insource engineering capabilities from suppliers, ensuring a seamless integration of external expertise and resources into our internal teams.
Manage vendor relationships to ensure we retain ownership of our technology strategy and maintain control over critical technology decisions holding vendors accountable and ensuring they meet our high standards for performance and delivery.
Qualifications
Demonstrated ability to build and lead high-performing engineering teams, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and engineering excellence.
Strong strategic thinking, excellent problem-solving skills, and exceptional ability to plan and manage at both the strategic and hands-on operational levels
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
Extensive experience (10+ years) in software engineering, with a significant portion in leadership roles within the telecommunications industry.
Proven expertise in leading BSS transformations, with a deep understanding of both wireless and wireline services.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and inspire stakeholders at all levels and effectively navigate complex technical and business challenges.
