In our Internal audits data analytics team at AT&T, we are committed to leveraging data-driven insights to support audit findings, enhance audit confidence and uphold independence and integrity values core to our Internal audit practice. As part of this team, you will play a pivotal role in sourcing data and providing extensive data analytics to support audit procedures and findings.
Job Overview
The Lead Advanced Analytics will source and analyze data from multiple sources including operational data stores, data lakes, internal and external sources, and data warehouses to support audit procedures. Utilizing your expertise in data sourcing, data querying, statistics, trend analysis, and a suite of other critical and analytical techniques, you will source, examine, and pinpoint the critical data necessary to conduct audit procedures, establish independence, and work with the auditors. You will encounter a diverse range of technology stacks utilized by different clients, and you are expected to swiftly enhance your foundational skills in those technologies to source data and conduct analytics. You will manage the data request process to ensure timeline review of the request, resource assignment and status updates for data requests. Your work will contribute to establishing independent data sourcing, increasing data leveragability across all audits and improving client confidence in audit reports.
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
- Data Analysis and Reporting:
- Collect, analyze, and interpret complex data sets to identify trends, anomalies, and patterns.
- Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, and visualizations to communicate findings effectively.
- Audit Support:
- Collaborate with audit teams to design and execute data-driven audit procedures.
- Provide data insights to support risk assessment, audit planning, and execution.
- Manage data request process - intake, review, resource assignment and status updates
- Data Management:
- Ensure data quality, accuracy, and consistency across various data sources.
- Implement and maintain data security standards and best practices.
- Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with internal stakeholders, including internal auditors, audit client teams, and compliance teams.
- Present data analysis results to auditors and other relevant parties.
- Technology and Tools:
- Utilize advanced analytical tools and software (e.g., SQL, Power BI) to perform data analysis and create data visuals.
- Stay updated with emerging technologies and trends in data analytics and audit practices.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Educational Background:
- A bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer science, Information Technology, Data analysis, Statistics, or a related field.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in data analysis tools and programming languages (e.g., SQL, Python).
- Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI).
- Experience working in relational and non-relational data platforms ( e.g. Snowflake, Databricks, oracle, MS SQL Server, Mongo DB )
- Expertise working with a variety of data formats ( e.g. CSV files, Excel, Json, fixed width, XML etc. )
- Analytical Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to interpret complex data and provide actionable insights.
- Attention to Detail:
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail in data analysis and reporting.
- Ability to spot out of scope items in data requests
- Communication Skills:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience:
- 5 years of experience in data sourcing and analysis, preferably within an internal audit or financial/accounting environment.
Our Senior Data Analysis earn between $94,300 - $178,000 of TSR. Not to mention all the other amazing rewards that working at AT&T offers. Individual starting salary within this range may depend on geography, experience, expertise, and education/training.
