AT&T has an opening for anNMS ITSoftware Engineer: To support a key program in AT&T’s National Security business segment. The NMS IT Software Engineer will provide expert knowledge of network management systems, operating systems, commercial software, government software, and full integration of toolsets and servers.
This position requires office presence a minimum of 5 days per week and is only located in the location(s) posted. No relocation is offered.
Description of Job Duties/Responsibilities: Design, plan, engineer, develop, automate, secure, document, and support the implementation and escalated support requests for delivered highly available (HA) solutions for the following Microsoft infrastructure hosted on VMware technologies:
- Microsoft Windows Server – Desktop Experience and Standard (Core)
- Microsoft Active Directory (AD) Domain Services (AD DS)
- Kerberos Authentication to include Smart Card Authentication
- Domain Naming Services (DNS)
- Group Policy Objects (GPOs)
- Replication Sites and Services
- Microsoft AD Certificate Services (ADCS)
- Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP)
- File and Storage Services
- Distributed File Services (DFS)
- Remote Desktop Services (RDS)
- Hardening, securing, and supporting Risk Management Framework (RMF) authorization and accreditation (A&A) efforts of engineered solutions.
- Automation and orchestration of common and complex activities to include testing, validation, and verification, as well as using modern tools and methods such as Ansible, Python, Terraform, and/or Windows PowerShell.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve complex system and services issues to include Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
- System performance analysis and tuning to ensure efficient and optimally configured solutions.
- Leading engineering projects and teams through the Technical Processes of the Systems Life Cycle to meet deliverables and positive outcomes within scope and budget.
- Delivering well developed and engineered solutions as deployable packages by Operations teams to production environments with high success rate and minimal manual interaction by personnel in the process.
Required Clearance: TS/SCI with polygraph. (#ts/sci) (#polygraph)
Required Qualifications: Candidate must have 16 years of experience that can be a combination of work history and education. (NOTE: This equates to a Doctorate and 8 years of experience OR a Master’s and 10 years OR a Bachelor’s and 12 years OR an Associate’s and 14 years OR HS and 16 years). Must meet Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level 2 certification requirements.
Additional requirements include:
- Must be able to work with minimal supervision to perform complex technical tasks and lead others effectively.
- Must be able to process and analyze information and trouble calls submitted by a customer (e.g., system administrator, developer, security specialist), make determinations, and provide and implement solutions.
- Proven experience automating the implementation and configuration of Microsoft technologies to support large scale enterprise solution deployments and configuration management efforts.
- Hands-on experience with developing, evaluating, assessing, and refining automated testing, validation, and verifications methods.
- Familiarity with Department of Defense (DoD) Risk Management Framework (RMF) information security requirements, standards, and best practices; DoD Information Assurance Certification and Accreditation Process (DIACP) compliancy with Retina, Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) and National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Special Publication (SP) 800-53 Security and Privacy Controls for Information Systems and Organizations.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Working knowledge of Service Now or similar ITSM, and Microsoft Office products: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Desired Qualifications:
- Advanced system architecture, design, and integration.
- Cross platform and integration experience including Windows, Linux, Juniper, and Cisco.
- Programming experience including C, C++, C#, Java, Python, Perl, BASH scripting, PowerShell.
- Experience with databases including Oracle and MariaDB.
- ISC2 CISSP or equivalent.
