About the Job:
The Cybersecurity Associate Director - IAM Access Operations position will be a key part of our Identity and Access Management (IAM) team within the Chief Security Office (CSO).
This is a supervisory role responsible for leading an IAM Access Operations team in the U.S. The role will partner closely with a peer overseeing an IAM Access Operations team in India to drive alignment and collaboration as we transform into a best-in-class organization. Success in this fast-paced position requires exceptional interpersonal skills, sharp analytical thinking, and proven ability to deliver high-impact results in time-sensitive situations.
Responsibilities include leading strategic planning and stakeholder engagement, collaborating with global teams, and overseeing application on-boarding to demonstrate compliance with IAM risk and controls. Effective project management and commitment to quality assurance are essential to ensure timely delivery and high standards for all deliverables. The role will provide leadership and direction across multiple IAM operational functions including IGA, PAM, authorization management, and enterprise identity services to ensure consistent delivery and operational excellence.
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
Strategic Planning and Policy Development: Define and execute application on-boarding strategy to IAM services including IGA, PAM, and Entra ID leveraging a factory model. Partner with ServiceNow product manager to define product roadmap and strategy for the ServiceNow platform to automate IAM business services. Develop enterprise-wide IAM governance frameworks, policies, and controls. Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify opportunities for innovation and improvement. Develop and maintain a long-term product roadmap that aligns with business goals and stakeholder needs.
Operations Management and Team Leadership: Lead and direct an IAM Operations team in executing daily operations. Collaborate with cross-functional project teams to deliver projects on time and within scope. Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies as needed. Ensure effective communication and collaboration among team members and stakeholders. Prepare and publish leadership metrics covering KPIs and KRIs to measure operational efficiency and follow established escalation procedures for timely resolution.
IAM Governance and Compliance Oversight: Direct and oversee enterprise-wide compliance with IAM security policies across all IT assets including applications and servers. Develop remediation plans for managing risk and ensure proper execution by the operations team. Supervise discovery, reporting, and remediation efforts for non-compliant privilege accounts including human privilege accounts and service accounts.
Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with internal stakeholders and other business units to gather requirements and ensure alignment with organizational objectives. Act as the primary point of contact for all IAM application on-boarding, ServiceNow-related inquiries, and initiatives. Collaborate with Executive Leadership team delegates to support them with access management compliance activities. Gather feedback and requirements from customers to inform product decisions.
Global Team Collaboration: Partner and collaborate with international and diverse teams to ensure seamless day-to-day business operations, effective handovers, and foster a unified team culture. Establish processes to align work between U.S. and international teams, particularly the India operations.
Quality Assurance and Process Improvement: Establish and maintain high standards of quality for all deliverables. Conduct regular reviews and testing to ensure that the platform meets user expectations and complies with best practices. Implement and oversee Agile processes and methodologies in operational tasks. Establish and refine operational and management processes to mitigate control weaknesses and gaps.
Product and Development Partnership: Partner with Product Managers to inform backlog prioritization and ensure alignment with business needs and strategic objectives. Provide operational insights to help prioritize features and tasks based on business value, stakeholder requirements, and resource constraints. Collaborate with development teams to clarify operational requirements, offer domain expertise on IAM operations, and support effective implementation of solutions. Ensure operational readiness for new features and maintain alignment between development efforts and operational realities.
Risk and Compliance Management: Partner with internal audit and control teams to plan and deliver product features in compliance with IAM controls and processes. Develop strategic compliance programs aligned with NIST and Cybersecurity frameworks.
Gap Analysis & Enhancement Advocacy: Identify gaps in existing solutions, gather requirements, and collaborate with product architecture and client teams to advocate for necessary enhancements. Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance security posture and operational efficiency.
Technical Support Escalation and Oversight: Oversee the escalation process from L1 and L2 support teams. Partner with Engineering Tier 2/Tier 3 support as needed to resolve complex customer issues and ensure seamless operation. Ensure compliance with agreed-upon service level agreements (SLAs).
Qualifications:
15+ years of work experience with a bachelor's degree
8+ years of experience in global organizations at IAM Operations leadership level
6+ years of experience managing IAM operations services including application on-boarding, access certification, customer engagement, L2/L3 operations support
10+ years' experience providing business and access operations support with SailPoint IGA and CyberArk PAM products
Strong technical and functional understanding of SailPoint IIQ, CyberArk PAM, and Delinea Active Directory bridging products
Sound knowledge of NIST and Cybersecurity frameworks
Experience in developing and implementing IAM governance frameworks, policies, and controls
Excellent project management skills, with a track record of successfully leading cross-functional teams
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage and influence stakeholders at all levels
Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously
Experience with Azure DevOps a plus
Preferred:
Organizational change management experience: comfortable driving people change with a track record of successfully navigating organizational changes
Demonstrated expertise in deploying effective, large-scale IAM programs, working effectively with a broad group of stakeholders
Strong understanding of applicable regulatory expectations for the design and deployment of IAM solutions
A clear record of strategic thinking, sound judgment, and superior problem-solving abilities
Flexible and creative thinker with strong execution skills; able to generate out-of-the-box solutions, manage ambiguity, anticipate the impact of decisions/initiatives, and move seamlessly from high-level concepts to details
Proven project management skills and experience
Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISA, ITIL4 Foundation, or ISO/IEC 27001

Our Assoc Director-Cybersecurity, earns between $155,400.00 - $194,300.00 Annual, not to mention all the other amazing rewards that working at AT&T offers. Individual starting salary within this range may depend on geography, experience, expertise, and education/training.
