Overview

We’re looking for a Senior UX Designer to help shape the future of Search, AI, and Chat experiences within our mobile app ecosystem. This role will be the design point of contact across multiple product pods, providing guidance to two other designers in this space.

You’ll be focused on crafting smart, intuitive, and seamless app-first experiences powered by LLMs and generative AI. You’ll also play a key role in evolving our conversational interfaces and search journeys across both app and mobile-web platforms, with app being the core priority.

We’re seeking a systems thinker who thrives in ambiguity, sweats the details, and understands how micro-interactions can transform good experiences into great ones. You’ll work closely with product managers, engineers, researchers, and other designers to bring clarity, utility, and elegance to emerging AI-powered features.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end UX design for Search, AI, and Chat features, primarily on app, with support for web experiences as needed.
  • Serve as the design point of contact for your product area, collaborating closely with other designers.
  • Partner with product, engineering, and other cross-functional stakeholders in multiple product pods to define and deliver smart, user-centered solutions.
  • Design and prototype user flows, interaction models, and micro-interactions that elevate the user experience.
  • Design for AI-powered features, including search ranking, conversational interfaces, and generative experiences.
  • Leverage insights from user research, data, and experimentation to iterate and improve design decisions.
  • Contribute to and work within the established mobile design system to ensure consistency across platforms.
  • Ensure smooth design-to-engineering handoff with clear specs and collaborative iteration.

What We’re Looking For

  • 8+ years of experience designing digital products, with a strong emphasis on app UX.
  • Portfolio demonstrating interaction design, micro-interactions, and AI-integrated experiences — especially across mobile app.
  • Deep experience using Figma as a primary design and collaboration tool.
  • Experience designing with LLMs or generative AI technologies in a product context.
  • Familiarity with conversational UI patterns and modern search experiences.
  • Strong communication and storytelling skills, with experience presenting to cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity and lead design efforts across multiple workstreams.
  • Experience working with or integrating AI platforms like Google Cloud AI, OpenAI, or similar is a big plus.

Portfolio Requirement

An online portfolio is required for consideration. Please include case studies that demonstrate your process and outcomes, with a focus on app interaction design, micro-interactions, and AI-powered features.

Our Senior UX Designer, earns between $130,700.00-$196,100.00 USD Annual, not to mention all the other amazing rewards that working at AT&T offers. Individual starting salary within this range may depend on geography, experience, expertise, and education/training.
