The ideal candidate is a Space professional with leadership experience who can expand awareness of AT&T’s unique combination of mission support in the areas of wired and wireless and telecommunications and professional services to the U.S. Space Force customer and industry prospects. 

Job Duties/Responsibilities:

Key Business Development Functions:

  • Responsible for identifying and winning new U.S. Space Force business within the scope of AT&T’s core capabilities and priorities.
  • Participate in the development of and execute on a strategic business development plan.
  • Engage with customer prospects and industry clients in business development activities primarily within the Colorado Springs area and as needed other locations, through face-to-face discussions, technical exchange meetings, and coordinated briefings.
  • Build relationships with customer leadership to ensure awareness of AT&T capabilities and initiatives while making sure that we have alignment at the senior levels within AT&T.
  • Qualify prospective opportunities by evaluating past performance, competition, relationships, and incumbents.
  • Actively participate in the business development and capture lifecycle.
  • Lead business opportunities from identification, qualification, proposal development to award to include leading opportunity reviews and decision gates that consist of 1) identification 2) qualification 3) opportunity development and 4) bid/no bid.
  • Collaborate with program partners and internal AT&T Client Executives to ensure success.
  • Keep senior leadership of AT&T appropriately informed and engaged as opportunities move through the selling and approval cycle.
  • Develop and brief status and recommendations to senior management for decision making.
  • This is an individual contributor position (non-supervisory).
  • Some CONUS travel is required for customer meetings and event attendance.

Required Clearance

TS/SCI preferred (#tssci)

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Air Force and/or U.S. Space Force experience- active duty, civilian, or contractor
  • Detailed insight into current and future programs within the target customer set
  • Knowledge of Air Force and/or U.S. Space Force IT / network related contracts and contracting processes
  • Functional and organizational knowledge of IT / network efforts within the target customer set
  • Strong interpersonal, communications, and writing skills are required as are demonstrated leadership skills
  • Understanding of sales and business development process

Desired Qualifications

  • BS in Technical discipline (Computer, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or similar field)
  • Computer Skills at an advanced level
  • Past operations experience with/for the Department of Defense, specifically Dept of the Air Force

Our Lead Business Development's earn between $175,000-$205,000. Not to mention all the other amazing rewards that working at AT&T offers. Individual starting salary within this range may depend on geography, experience, expertise, and education/training.
